DESIGNER
THREADS – November 16, 2011
At the October meeting our group came up with a
couple of projects for the coming months. We are making chenille scarves
to donate to the Boutique. We have a great range of colors and patterns
in the flannel fabrics.
We also discussed making a big shirt….a long,
roomy, color-blocked shirt to wear over an outfit or buttoned up as a
tunic. To plan ahead here are the fabric requirements for this shirt:
44-45” fabric (for color-blocked shirt) -
½ yd. fabric #1
(front/back/pocket/pocket/button loops/sleeve tabs)
5/8 yd fabric #2
(front/back/collar band)
1 yd fabric #3 (front/back/front
facing)
1 yd fabric #4 (sleeves/pocket
top)
**OR**
44-45” fabric (for one fabric) -
3 ¼ yds of one fabric
**AND**
Eight - ¾” buttons
1 yd fusible interfacing

We’ll bring patterns and instructions. We’ll
also have paper for everyone to trace their own patterns. If you have a
big shirt pattern you would like to use or share, please bring that.
Remember “Fantasy Bras” are due at the March
guild meeting. We can’t wait to see this display. We have chosen one
particular type of hanger on which to display these bras. We have
fourteen of these and can get more if needed.
Also there will be NO meeting in December since the
holiday season keeps everyone hopping. Please come and visit with us in
November.
Love
to see you the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 9:30 am.
