FRIENDSHIP STARS PROGRAM
After
seeing this program in action at a guild we were visiting, it was presented to
the OPQG board members and approved for our guild. This idea is to send a 6” Friendship Star block to members to
express encouragement. We need to let
our friends know that we are thinking of them when they have been under the
weather, lost a loved one, in the hospital or just need our best wishes. Our emphasis is not an invasion of privacy
but rather that we want to make sure our friends know we care. Again, we will only do this with
permission. Please know that we will
respect each person's wishes. This is
about kindness, support, and encouragement.
Our friends are the best part of our guild. This small token is very simple.....just friendship.
Our
intentions are to help our members and provide an act of kindness. Billie Tordt and Kathy Haymes have volunteered to chair this committee and
will be your point of contact. If you
have knowledge about a guild member who needs a thoughtful bit of comfort and

There
are several methods that can be used to make this wonderful quilt block. Hand pieced, machine pieced or paper pieced
are all acceptable. These patterns will be down loadable on the OPQG website by
the November guild meeting since our webmaster is out of town. We will also have them available at the
guild meetings.
