Harmony House

Harmony House is a local family violence shelter that has been adopted by the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

In 1997, the Ozark Piecemakers accepted a request from the Family Violence Center to decorate a room at Harmony House, (a newly acquired building at that time), which provides a safe environment for abused women and their children. After decorating our assigned room, guild members decided to adopt Harmony House as an ongoing project.

During the year, guild members generously donate money and numerous other items to meet the needs of the women and children residing there.

At our December Christmas party, members donate funds and the Guild matches up to $500.00 of those donations. This money is used to purchase items on the Harmony House Wish List. In lieu of a gift exchange, members donate other needed items including diapers, batteries, toiletries, and clothing.

As a guild, it is rewarding to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of other women and children.
