The In-Between Opportunity Quilt for OPQG to be raffled off in September 2019 is called Tulapalooza. The quilt focused mainly on the use of Tula Pink fabrics to give it a fresh and modern look. The quilt was conceived and created by the OPQG Modern Group who volunteered to make the quilt for the Guild. According to the group leader, the goal was to make something that was a blend between traditional and modern to showcase something that would have appeal to many. The blocks were created by 8 members of the group to include: Lois Blonsit, Pamela Cannell, Deb Gillenwaters (now retired member), Jillian Grant, Donna Heddings, Annette Hosmann, Dorie Hruska (the quilter), Carol Pearson and Mary Vaughn. “To say this was a labor of love is truly an understatement. We wanted to give the Guild something that would get a lot of attention and maximize the number of tickets sold.” In short the group wanted a quilt that people simply fell in love with. It is with great pride that the Modern Group created a quilt that could be admired by everyone, no matter what their design preference is.
